It's one thing to want to come to New York and quite another to actually be able to afford it. So in this instance being able to buy a home there is almost impossible to do. How does one get around this?

The key can be in renting a home in the New York area. When I looked at the NYCraigslist I saw that one oppurtunity available is to actually rent a home as a vacation option.

The prices are right on for this too. In this listing that I saw there were prices between 90 and 200 dollars. This included living in areas that were well established in New York.
